SALTED HONEY CARAMELS


These tasty little morsels aren’t likely to stay around for long! Try this recipe for decadent salted honey caramels. 


 


Ingredients:


1/2 cup butter


1 cup Manuka Emporium Manuka Honey 


3/4 cup cream 


1/2 cup brown sugar


1 tsp vanilla extract 


1/2 tsp sea salt flakes 


 


Method:


1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over a medium heat. 


2. Add the honey, cream and brown sugar. Stir together with a whisk. 


3. Simmer for 30 minutes then remove from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. 


4. Pour the mixture evenly into silicon molds. (Mini muffin trays work great. You could also use a silicon baking tray and slice the caramels).


5. Sprinkle with the sea salt then place in the freezer for at least 2 hours. 


6. Remove from the molds and store in an airtight container in the freezer.
